where am i?

needless to say, i have not been the best blogger lately. i hope to still post here and summarize all of our latest adventures, but it may be on a less frequent basis (if that is even possible based on my current track record!). but have no fear, you can find bits of my everday on instagram or some of my latest work on tumblr. to those of you reading this - thank you for following along and hope to see you on the flipside. xo,

summer swimmers

happy first day of summer! last summer was filled with so much wedding prep, so i'm really hoping to fill this summer with more relaxing days at the beach, sundresses, fresh watermelon, walks to scooters custard, nighttime runs, campari drinks, movies in the park, alfresco evenings, fireworks and much more. i can hardly wait.

our europe adventure

the old city in riga, latvia

hi friends. i know it has been quite quiet over on the blog for some time. we were busy readying ourselves for our little europe adventure, then flew across three countries in two weeks and now we are home reliving it all through photos and sweet memories. our travels took us from chicago > dublin, ireland > riga, latvia > rome, italy and back home. it was certainly a trip of a lifetime. i have many, many, many more stories to tell of our travels, (and thousands of photos i'm still needing to download from the camera). i shared a few here, but for now, i leave you with a few photos from the trip courtesy of my phone (or david's). more to come!

to boston with love

easter and boston rolled all into one this year. it was actually quite poetic to be back for easter and think of all the new beginnings for so many. it was quite solemn and bittersweet to walk down boylston street. to remember the heartbreaking events of just one year ago. but to think of the incredible training and determination. and to see how far we all have come.

we all run boston was the moto this year. and we all truly did. you didn't have to literally run boston to be a part of the magic. magic in some of the most simple moments. what it meant to everyone.

it was simply incredible to cheer all of boston on. and it felt so good to properly celebrate after the race -- in more ways than one. we celebrated every runner we passed -- including two of our own. we truly celebrated the spirit of boston. and we walked away with some long lasting memories.

we'll always have a special place in our hearts for you, boston. always.

april showers

truly.

woke up to the lovely sound of april showers. the good part.

that i couldn't keep sleeping and that i had to get myself out of bed and enjoy a damp, windy and cold commute to work.  the bad part.

i guess it is better than snow.

happy april, friends.

bring on those may flowers.

dear chicago,

happy belated birthday, dear friend!  177 years and still going strong....and cold...and snow, snow snow. i know we have been on the outs lately with the weather and all, but i wanted to let you know that i'm still a fan. and even though you have disappointed me lately and really brought on the winter blues at times, i'm still lucky to know you. thank you for being you and making us all tough as nails. you've encouraged us all to never curse a day in the 90s with 80% humidity again.

you can let up a little now - ok? i really have come to love all the beautiful falling snow...at least in the moment. but it's really just getting to be too much. too much, i say! i can't tell you how excited i am to eat lunch outside and walk around without five million layers on. a girl can dream, but let's make this a reality. do me this one favor, ok? you're the best, chicago. and thanks.

yours truly,
me
